NS SD60 #6688, followed by two Dash 9s, working its way up the mountain toward Asheville on a beautiful fall afternoon Following the SRHA Gathering on October 6, Jim King led a group of railfans over the mountain following the tracks from Old Fort to Black Mountain. Norfolk Southern cooperated by providing a train. The Group was able to photograph the train on several occasions.
